They used religious cards to for their political purposes. Now, Akalis are playing this Dalit card and Punjab's Scheduled Caste Commission also wrote to government of India. What was commission doing during these 21 years. Sarabjit Singh was captured by Pakistanis for whatever reasons they may say, as an Indian spy or as usual suspect but not as a Dalit. If his case was ignored it was the government at all levels in India. Now using Sarabjit to whip up passion in the state of Punjab and hatred against Muslims elsewhere is dangerous. I wish our politicians wake up to ground realities as Indian jails are not that great than their Pakistani counterparts and all our laws and police officers are of same mindset and mentality. It is surprising that Punjab government going overboard loudly to give him a state funeral. Question is for what ? How many jawans who die serving the border get the same treatment. 'Nationalism' is the best way to save their skins for our corrupted and maha-corrupted politicians. It is also coming handy for our loudspeakers to increase their TRPs."
